Happy New Year!

So it's been a few days since my last post. I need to get in the habit of doing this at least once every other day. Yes, my life really is that exciting. Let's just consider this as one of my New Year's Resolutions (among many others).

For those of you who did not hear about my wonderful Christmas gift then let me enlighten you!

Patrick and I spent Christmas Eve with my family and opened presents with them in the morning. The way we open gifts with my family is that we all get to open one at the same time and then we share with everyone what we received. This year I had quite a bit more presents than everyone else because now I have in-laws and a very generous husband! When everyone had finished opening all thier presents I had about 3 presents left. I opened those quite fast and it came down to an envelope in the tree. I opened it and there was a card with a cute little puppy on the front. I opened it and read Patrick's little message and it basically said how awesome I am and how much he loves me and he left a Target gift card. I thanked him and set the card aside. He looked at me strange and asked me if I read the card. I said I had and he told me to read it again. I picked it up again and started reading it. I had forgot to read the message that was printed (usually I don't read these). I read it to myself and was confused. I asked him what it meant and he told me to read it out loud. I started to tear up and I read "Warm hear, cold nose...Congratulations on your new Puppy!". I couldn't believe it!

I had been begging for Patrick to give me a puppy for months. Not just any puppy but Sparky's puppy from his last litter. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I couldn't pass up. We bred him to a dog that was also a show champion and belonged to a really prestigious kennel. I was given choice of any puppy for free - most likely the pick of the litter. Patrick had just planned to sell the puppy and keep the money we got from it. I wanted to keep the puppy to show and continue my small but growing Australian Shepherd kennel. I love Sparky and want his lines to stay in my breeding program. He is getting older and we are running out of time to breed him again. This puppy was my only hope! It was such a great opportunity that I would never get again. If I didn't get this puppy I would have to for out at least $1000 for a new show puppy. Something we won't be able to afford for a long time! So you can see how I begged a pleaded but Patrick always refused. I heard excuse after excuse. There was no hope for me.

I smile so big now everytime I think of what Patrick did for me. It's going to be hard having three dogs but it will be an adventure!

I don't know which puppy I am getting yet and won't know till they are 8 weeks old. They are 6 weeks old now and we get to take four puppies home tomorrow and then it will be decisions decisions! I will post pictures of each puppy and you can help me decide!

Here is a picture from when they were 3 weeks old!

I am getting a male so the puppies I have to choose from are the four puppies in the middle to the right. The puppy in the far back is a female. The puppy to the far left is a mismark (too much white). The puppy in the very front is also a female. They have grown so much since this picture. I can't wait for you too see them all grown up!
